This program includes a twenty-minute presentation on the current state of the global economic markets followed by a corporate governance panel of seasoned corporate directors discussing board deliberations during times of economic uncertainty. Among the panel topics addressed are the impacts of proposed changes to interest rates, corporate tax rates, and other regulations.

Dr. Sung Won SohnDr. Sung Won Sohn is Martin V. Smith Professor of Economics at California State University Channel Islands and Director of Institute for Global Economic Research (IGER). He is on the boards of Western Alliance Bancorporation and NACD Southern California. He is a Commissioner for LACERS which manages the $13 billion of LA City Retirement funds. He was a Commissioner at the Port of Los Angeles, CEO of Hanmi Bank, Chief Economist at Wells Fargo Banks and an economist in the White House in Washington D.C. Dr. Sohn has served on numerous boards including First California Bancorporation and Forever 21.
Dr. Karen BogartDr. Bogart is a member of the board of Mohawk Industries (NYSE: MHK), Michelman, and Monolithic Power Systems (NASDAQ: MPWR). She was formerly a senior executive of Eastman Kodak Company. She is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow. Further, she is a lecturer at the University of California-Santa Barbara and President of Pacific Tributes-Smith Bogart Consulting. She has written articles on influence on sustainability.
Larraine SegilLarraine Segil is a seasoned director on the Board of Fortune 200 Telecom giant, Frontier Communications (NASDAQ; FTR) as well as a private global mid cap company and a variety of startup companies in Southern California. She serves on the board of NACD So Cal where she Chairs Nom and Gov. She is presently CEO of a privately held urban farming company. Her decades long expertise in Alliances and Board Governance enhanced by her authorship of 6 books, enable her to have a view of the issues that boards of small, midsized and large companies are facing.
Dr. Larry TaylorDr. Larry Taylor is a seasoned director of publicly traded and privately owned corporations. He is the current Chairman of The Creighton Group, an international governance research organization and the Tone-at-the Bottom Institute, a corporate governance advocacy organization. He is a NACD Board Leadership Fellow and serves on the board of NACD So Cal where he chairs both the Outreach Committee and Private Company Director Round Table. He a board member of the African American Board Leadership Institute. He has authored two books and numerous articles on corporate governance.
